Art is about flow: the flow of time, the flow of relationships, the flow of intuition. This flow leads me through many different styles and explorations as a way of constantly evolving. Since the birth of my daughter, my work has become much more fluid and less pre-meditative as I try to take in every moment and render the gestures of these moments through my work. This work comes from a highly personal place, whether from finding inspiration in my family or using the fake rose petals that are a part of Iranian wedding tradition and transforming them into abstractions. At the same time my work tries to find new shapes, new forms to let a viewer impart their own experiences and engage with their own personal stories. That is the real power of free flowing abstract art—it means something different for each of us.
